Description

With this Utrecht highlights biketour you will go cycling with an experienced local guide through one of the best preserved historic cities in the Netherlands. In several places, the guide tells stories about the residents of the past and special buildings in the city center.

In 2.5 to 3 hours we see the many different sides of this multifaceted city. For example, you can see why this was the most important city in the country throughout the Middle Ages before Amsterdam became one of the most important cities in the world in the golden age. We cycle past ancient buildings, narrow alleyways and the unique Utrecht wharf cellars that have not been built in this way anywhere in the world. From the city center of Utrecht we cycle via the city canal to the modern Utrecht by Gerrit Rietveld, Dick Bruna and the renovated central station area with the impressive Tivoli-Vredenburg building. On the east side of the city, at the Maliebaan, you can hear how Utrecht was the center of the NSB and the German occupier in the Second World War but also the heroic story about the resistance sisters, Truusje and Truitje van Lier.

In this famous student city you will experience the bustling terrace life of this university city in the short break during the tour. Of course, the literal and figurative highlight of the city is not lacking on this biketour: The Dom Tower, the skyline dominating center of the city. Cycle along with this beautiful biketour and learn about the past and present of Utrecht and get to know the quirky side of this vibrant city.

What we will see: TivoliVredenburg, De Dom cathedral, Rietveld-schröderhuis, Oude Gracht, Ledig Erf, the seven alleys, etc..
